Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers believe the shooting occurred after the woman sideswiped another vehicle on the road that resulted in a dispute between the two drivers. Police responded to a reported shooting just after 4:30 a.m. near the Naval Observatory on the 3600 block of Massachusetts Avenue. “Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound,” MPD said in a press release. According to a police report of the incident, a witness who was in the vehicle with the victim told police they were driving northbound on the avenue when they were sideswiped by another vehicle....

According to ESPN, the woman reported being stung on the hand while the plane was still on the tarmac. The plane returned to the gate, where she was checked by medical personnel but declined further treatment.
