RELATED: Tips For Conquering The Seas Solo In Sea Of Thieves

This is especially true for those islands and fortresses on the outskirts of the world of Sea of Thieves. Recently, players have been struggling to locate the Coral Fortress in the game. For those players looking to track down this intimidating island, this guide is here to help.

How to Find the Coral Fortress

As players familiar with the game will know, in order to track down anything, they must first board their Sea of Thieves’ ship. Whether a player is using a Sloop, Brigantine, or Galleon in their current playthrough of the game, the map is located near the stern and below the main deck.

Fortunately, the Coral Fortress isn’t one of the remaining secrets in Sea of Thieves and its location can be spotted in the northern section of the map. Along the top of this in-game map are letters ranging from A and Z, and along the side there are numbers that go up to 26. Players need to move the map towards the odd sharp shape north of the gap between the I and the J and above the grid.

This is the location of the Coral Fortress, an intimidating structure away from most other places in the game. There aren’t a lot of nearby islands to orient this area better, but for those looking to track down this location, their best bet is to start off at the Sanctuary Outpost in the northwest section of the map.

From here, players need to sail northwest, past Boulder Cay, Picaroon Palms, and Salty Sands on their way to the barren portion of the map. Players need to be on the lookout for an enormous structure surrounded by one of Sea of Thieves intense storms. This island fortress looks just like a piece of coral.

What is the Coral Fortress?

The Coral Fortress plays an important part of the Dark Brethren Tall Tale, the fourth tale in A Pirate’s Life story campaign. Without getting into spoilers, this fortress is actually a large mountain of jagged rocks, adorned with the debris of shipwrecks and coral.

Unfortunately, outside the Dark Brethren Tall Tale, this location doesn’t hold much in the way of interesting loot or enemies. Those looking to start this Tall Tale, however, need to have completed the Captains of the Damned Tall Tale first.

Sea of Thieves is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
